ದೇಶ ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ವೃತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಸೂಚಿಸಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಭಾರತದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಮೋಕ್ಷಗುಂಡಂ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯನವರ ಸ್ಮರಣಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ನೆನೆಯುವ ದಿನವೇ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ದಿನ.
ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯನವರು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾರ್ವಕಾಲಿಕ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಮೇರುವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಕುಶಲತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದಾಯ, ನಾಡು-ದೇಶದ ಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಾತಃಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಪುರುಷರು. ಅವರ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟ ಸಾಧನೆಯಾದ ಜಲ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲದ ಸದ್ಬಳಕೆ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ನಮಗೆ ಜೀವನದಿಯಾಗಿ ನೀರುಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಅಂದು ಹಾಕಿದಂತ ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಗಳು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಸಹ ನಮ್ಮ ದೈನಿಕ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೂಲ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ತಲಹದಿಯಿಂದ, ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ನೈಪುಣ್ಯತೆಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ವಸ್ತು ಅಥವಾ ಸೇವೆ ನೀಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಇಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಹಸನಾಗಿಸಿದೆ.
ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ-ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ-ನಿಸರ್ಗ-ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುವ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಕೊಂಡಿಯೇ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ವೃತ್ತಿ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಎಲ್ಲ ವೃತ್ತಿ-ಭಾಂದವರಿಗೆ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು!!
Engineer’s Day is celebrated in appreciation of the engineering profession and in the memory of India’s eminent engineer, scholar and statesman, Shri Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Sir M Visvesvaraya was internationally greatest technocrat known for his brilliance in the interest of society, nation in harmony with the nature. His greatest achievement in harnessing water resources in our country, stands testimonial to its utility even to this day. Engineers play a very significant role in every walk of our lives. They convert the theoretical knowledge of basic sciences into actual products and services, thus making our lives easy. Engineers possess versatile minds and help in filling the gap between science, technology and the community.
