MPLAD Scheme was launched on December 23, 1993, to provide a mechanism for the Members of Parliament to recommend works of developmental nature for creation of durable community assets and for provision of basic facilities including community infrastructure, based on locally felt needs.
MPLADS - Additional
Local Area Development Scheme provides a fund for each Parliamentary constituency to take up developmental projects in respective constituencies. Member of Parliament can recommend various developmental works but the execution lies in the hands of the respective district authorities.
