ಅಸೀಮ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ ವೀರ ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಿ

“ಏಳಿ ಎದ್ದೇಳಿ ಗುರಿ ಮುಟ್ಟುವವರೆಗೂ ನಿಲ್ಲದಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹಿಂದು ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದ ವೀರ ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಿ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ಜನ್ಮ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ದಿನ ಇಂದು.  ಶತಮಾನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮೊಳಗಿದ ಆ ವೀರವಾಣಿ, ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದೂ ಅನುರಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರೆ, ಅದೆಂತಹ ವಿಕಸಿತ ಆತ್ಮಶಕ್ತಿ.... ಜಾಗೃತ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ.....!

೧೯ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಉತ್ತರಾರ್ಧದ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ರಾಜಕೀಯವಾಗಿ ಪರತಂತ್ರ್ಯದಲಿತ್ತು,  ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬಡತನದಿಂದ ದೈನ್ಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ ವಿಘಟಿತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತನ್ನ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ, ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ವಿಸ್ಮೃತಿಗೆ ಸಂದಿತ್ತು. ಜಗದ್ಗುರುವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಭಾರತ ಗುಲಾಮಿ ಭಾರತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಭಾರತದ ಜೀವಂತಿಕೆಯಿರುವುದು ಐಹಿಕ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ, ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಿದವರು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರು.

ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆಯ ಎದುರು ಭಾರತದ ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಣಕ್ಕೊಡ್ಡಿ ಸವಾಲೆಸೆದವರು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರು. ಲೌಕಿಕ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ ಲೋಕೋತ್ತರ ಬದುಕೊಂದನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಬಲ್ಲ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಸನಾತನ ತತ್ವಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರು ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೂ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿವಾದ ಪರಿಸರವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಕಮ್ಯೂನಿಸ್ಟ್ಸಿ ದ್ಧಾಂತವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾತ್ಮಕ ಚಿಂತನೆಯ ಅದ್ವೈತವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನೆಲೆಗೆ ತಂದು, ಭಾರತ ಅಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಆ ಮಹಾನ್ ಚೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಸ್ರ ಸಹಸ್ರ ನಮನಗಳು.

Today we are celebrating the birth anniversary of a legend who enlightened the society through his divine clarion call of,

‘Arise, awake and don't stop until the goal is reached…’

This epic slogan, popularized centuries ago, still resonates in the ears of the Nation and continues to inspire us, eternally.

In the middle of 19th century, Indian politics was passing through one of its worst phase.  The Nation which once had a glorious history, was filled with poverty, political hindrance had lost its rich culture and heritage.  The country which was once known for its wealth, had turned slaves for British imperialists.  Swami Vivekananda was the one great guiding force, who showed the world that India was alive due to its spiritual richness rather than its wealth.

Swami Vivekananda challenged the western so-called progressive thought with India's spiritual prowess.  He continues to inspire the Nation by his noble thoughts such as our ancient philosophy being capable of delivering quality spiritual life beyond the worldly materialistic prosperity.  Salutations to the great spirit of Sri Vivekananda on this day, who outrightly rejected the stale Communist ideology and thus heralded the glories of our nationalism.
