ಅನಂತಕುಮಾರ ಹೆಗಡೆಯವರ ದೂರದೃಷ್ಟಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಕೃಷಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಕದಂಬ ಫೌಂಡೇಷನ್ ನ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯಿಂದ ಇಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕಾ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಶೇ.28 ರಿಂದ ಶೇ 58ಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರೈತರು ತಂಬಾಕು ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅರಗಿನ ಬೆಳೆಗೆ ಮಾರು ಹೋಗಿರುವುದು ಸಹ ಒಬ್ಬ ಆದರ್ಶ ನಾಯಕ ಹೇಗೆ ರೈತ ಸಮೂಹವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನೆಡೆಸಬಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಜ್ವಲಂತ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ!

Uttara Kannada district has witnessed it's horticultural development increasing from 28% to 58%, thanks to the visionary programmes initiated by Sri Anantkumar Hegde in the domains of agronomy and horticulture. He has been instrumental in influencing the farming community of Mysuru, who opted cultivating lac in place of tobacco. He has proven himself as a worthy farmer's guide and well-wisher.
