Will the Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers be pleased to state:-   

(a) Whether the production and business of crop protection chemicals have constantly increased over the last several years; 

(b) If so, the average annual production and amount of business transacted respect of the said chemicals during the last four years;

 (c) Whether the selling price of these chemicals has increased during the said period; and  

(d) If so, the extent to which the selling price of these chemicals has increased from 2013-2014 to March, 2016-2017.

(a) Yes Sir. There has been significant increase in production of crop protection chemicals. The details of  last four years are as under:-

(b) The average annual production of crop protection chemicals during last 04 years is 191771 Metric Ton.

(C)& (d): Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals does not monitor the selling price of Crop protection chemicals. However the wholesale price index of Insecticide and Pesticide is being maintained by Office of the Economic Advisor, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Based on data published by DIPP on their website the wholesale price index of insecticides and Pesticides over past four years is given below.
