Unspent Funds

2760. SHRI ANANTKUMAR HEGDE:

Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND PUBLIC ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:

(a) whether many Government run financial, vocational and industrial institutions in the country have huge quantities of unspent funds ;

(b) if so, the details thereof ;

(c) whether the Government has identified the said amount ; and

(d) if so, the quantity of this unutilized fund and the reasons for not utilizing this fund in development scheme of the country till date ?

ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND

PUBLIC ENTERPRISES (SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO) 

(a) & (b): The role of Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) is confined to the administration of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) / Autonomous Bodies (ABs) under its administration control. However, there is no Government run financial, vocational and industrial institute under DHI.

(c) & (d): Does not arise
