DEVELOPMENT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

ANANT KUMAR DATTATREYA HEGDE 

(a) whether any survey has been conducted by the Government in the country to achieve the target of development rate in cattle rearing, vetenary and fisheries segment;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise/ UT-wise;

(c) the total number of projects/ schemes sanctioned for production of fish and milk in the country during each of the last three years and the current year as on date, State- wise/ UT-wise;

(d) the total number of farmers/promoters who have benefited under these schemes, State- wise/ UT-wise;

(e) whether the Government has fixed any target for expansion of these sectors during the Twelfth Five Year Plan period; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

 (a) & (b) The Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries has not conducted any survey to achieve the target of development rate in cattle rearing, veterinary and Fisheries segment.

(c) & (d) Details of number of projects/ schemes sanctioned for production of fish and milk in the country as well as details of number of farmers/promoters who have benefited under these schemes, State-wise/ UT-wise, are at Annexure I to VIII.

(e) & (f) As per the twelfth plan document brought out by the Planning Commission growth rate of about 5 percent per annum in the Animal Husbandry Sector and 6 percent per annum for Fisheries Sector is envisaged.
