EMPLOYMENT IN IT SECTOR

(a)whether the business in Information Technology (IT) sector has recorded a huge increase in the country;
(b)if so, the average annual increase in the business in the country during the last three years and the current year;
(c)whether the number of employment opportunities has also increased in the said sector corresponding to the above increase;
(d)if so, the details thereof; and
(e)the details of average difference in the salaries between the persons posted at higher level and lower level in this sector?

(a) and (b):According to the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), Indian IT-ITES industry has been growing progressively as is evident from table below. The revenue of the Indian IT-ITES industry (both domestic and exports) during the last three years viz 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and the estimate for the year 2013-14 alongwith average annual growth in percentage is as under:
Source: NASSCOM (c) and (d):The Indian IT-ITES industry continues to be a net hirer. The direct employment by the industry has grown at an average of about 8% during 2010-2014 as compared to average annual growth of 13.2% (In US Dollars) for IT-ITES revenue during the corresponding period as given below.
