SRIKRISHNA COMMITTEE ON TELENGANA

(a) whether the Srikrishna Committee constituted to examine the situation in Andhra Pradesh with regard to the demand for a separate State of Telengana, has submitted its report to the Union Government;

(b) if so, the details of suggestions/recommendations made by the Committee and the reaction of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Committee has also included the suggestions received from the media in its report;

(d) if so, whether the South Asian Media Commission has expressed its concern over the suggestions given by the said Committee on media; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Union Government thereto?

 (a) to (c): Yes, Madam. The Srikrishna Committee had submitted its report on 30.12.2010. The complete report of the Committee is available on the website (www.mha.nic.in) of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

(d) & (e): Though no reference has been received from the south Asia Media Commission, but as per media reports the said commission has expressed concern over the suggestion of the Srikrishna Committee to “use official advertisements to manage the media”.
