NON ROFITABLE ROUTES

(a) whether the Railways run several trains on non-profitable routes ust to fulfil its social obligations;

(b) if so, the number of such routes in the country as on date, one-wise; 

(c) the total loss estimated to be suffered by the Railways due to such routes annually during the last three years, year-wise; 

(d) whether the Railways propose to undertake any study to turn such routes into profitable ones;

  (e) if so, the details thereof; and 

(f) if not, the reasons therefor?
