ETHANOL MIED PETROL
(a) whether ethanol reuired to be mied in petrol and diesel is available, in the country;
(b) if so, the details of the demand and supply of the ethanol;
(c) whether cost of production of petrol in the country has come down as a result of the aforesaid miing;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether the consumers still have not got ethanol mied petrol and diesel;
(f) the reasons therefor and the reaction of the Government thereto; and
(g) the steps taen by the Government in this regard?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM NATURAL GAS (SHRI JITIN PRASADA)
(a) (b) In compliance with the decision of the Government, the Oil Mareting Companies (OMCs) are procuring ethanol for the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme to the etent of the ethanol made available by the domestic ethanol producers at the ad-hoc e-factory declared price decided by the Government. For the period 1st November, 2010 to 1st October, 2011, against the reuirement of 10. crore litres by the OMCs, contiacts for 7. crore litres have been signed with the eligible suppliers till 1SL October, 2010.
(c) (d) As the declared price of ? 27 litre is adhoc in nature and subect to adustment with the final price, any impact on cost of production of Petrol will be assessable only with respect to the final price.
(e) to (g) EBP supplies have commenced and will cover all marets progressively.
